Blackjack

Play blackjack against Rick on Telegram with burps, a fun currency with no real value. Claim burps with /bank, deal a hand with /bj, and play with the buttons under Rick's message.

Blackjack and burps are Telegram only. Discord has no /bank or /bj. For a casual roll there, use /rickroll from Various.

Burps have no monetary value and cannot be cashed out. They are separate from AI credits: playing never spends credits, and AI replies never spend burps.

Commands

Command	Description
/bank	Claim accrued burps and show your balance and Rick's bank. Also /daily.
/bank top	The ten richest players by current balance.
/bank ath	The ten highest all-time-high balances.
/bj <bet>	Deal a hand with that bet. Also /blackjack.
/bj <bet> side [amount]	Deal a hand with a Perfect Pairs side bet. /bj 1k pp is the same as /bj 1k side.
/bj stats	Your summary over the last 50 hands.
/games	Admins turn the burps games on or off in a group.

Burps

Every player gets up to 25,000 free burps a day. New players start with zero, so run /bank to grab your first stake. Burps build up over time and /bank (also /daily) claims them:

You earn about 1,041 burps for each full hour since your last claim, up to 25,000 for a full day away.
Your first claim is the full 25,000.
Claims on Saturday and Sunday (UTC) pay double.
You can claim again after at least one hour. Leftover minutes carry over to the next claim. If the claim is on cooldown, /bank tells you exactly when the next claim unlocks.

/bank also shows your balance, total claimed, all-time high when you are below it, your rank, the biggest net win of the last 24 hours, Rick's bank now and 1 and 7 days ago, 24 hour wagered volume, and the jackpot pool when it is not empty. In groups, Rick deletes the panel and your command after 10 seconds. In a DM they stay.

Rick's bank pays every win and collects every loss. Technically the house can go bust, but if the bank drains to zero it refills by 10 million burps, so the table never closes. Draining Rick is the flex: /bank shows a rekt counter with how many times that has happened and who last tipped him over.

Placing a bet

/bj <bet> - the minimum bet is 1,000 burps, so /bj 1000 and /bj 1k are the smallest hands.
You can write bets as 1k, 1.5k, 1,5k, 10,000, or 1m.

If you cannot cover the bet, Rick shows your balance and points you to /bank.

Table rules

Six-deck shoe, freshly shuffled for every hand.
Dealer stands on all 17s, including soft 17.
Blackjack pays 3:2, rounded down to whole burps.
Double on any first two cards, including after a split.
Split any pair once, for a maximum of two hands. Ten-value cards pair with each other, so a ten and a king can be split.
Split aces get exactly one card each and cannot be doubled. A 21 on a split hand is not a blackjack.
No insurance, no surrender.

Playing a hand

After /bj <bet>, Rick deals two cards to you and two to himself with one hidden, then shows buttons under the message:

Hit - take another card.
Stand - lock in your total.
Double - double the bet, take exactly one card, then stand. Shown only on a fresh two-card hand.
Split - split a pair into two hands. Shown only on a pair, and only once.

When every hand is done, Rick reveals the hole card, plays out, and pays instantly. The result also shows your win rate over the last 50 hands.

Only the player who started the hand can press its buttons. Wait about 2 seconds between presses.

After the hand, two buttons remain:

Deal - a new hand with the same bet.
Deal 2x - a new hand with double the bet.

If you had a side bet, Deal keeps it. Deal 2x doubles the side bet too, staying within 100 to 50,000 burps and never above the new main bet.

Limits

One active hand per player, across all chats.
One active hand per chat. If someone else is mid-hand, Rick links to it and asks you to wait.
15 seconds between the end of one hand and the next deal.
A hand with no action for 5 minutes expires. The stake is not returned.

Perfect Pairs side bet

An optional wager that resolves on your first two cards, independently of the main hand. You can lose the hand and still win the side bet, or the reverse.

/bj 1k side - side bet of 10% of the main bet, at least 100 burps.
/bj 1k side 500 - set the side amount yourself.
/bj 1k pp 500 - same as side.

Limits: minimum 100 burps, maximum 50,000 burps, and never more than the main bet.

A winning side bet pays the multiplier plus your stake back:

Jackpot

Every wager, main and side, feeds a shared progressive jackpot that can drop on any qualifying hand.

3% of each wager goes into the pool. Rick's bank gets the rest, which is why a bet does not fully go to Rick.
A hand gets a jackpot roll when the original main bet plus any side bet is at least 10,000 burps. Extra from doubles or splits does not count.
Each qualifying hand has a 1 in 100 chance at the end, win or lose. The roll is independent of your cards, so you can lose the hand and still win the jackpot.
The winner takes the whole pool, which then resets to zero.
The pool size shows at the bottom of /bank whenever it is not empty.

Side bets do feed the jackpot and count toward the 10,000 floor, the same as the main bet.

Stats

/bj stats replies with your summary over the last 50 hands. With no history yet, Rick just points you to /bj.

Where it runs

/bank and /bj work in DM with Rick and in any group where the games are on. Group admins turn them off with /games off and back on with /games on (the default). When the games are off, /bank and /bj do nothing in that group.
