/news summarizes the crypto, tech, macro, and geopolitics stories Rick collected over a window you choose. On Telegram, /ricknews is a separate group setting that posts a short news report on a schedule instead of on request.

On demand news

/news groups what it finds under #WEB3, #TECH, #MACRO, #GEOPOLITICS, and #OTHERS, with crypto first. Each line is one short bullet, and the whole summary stays around ten bullets, so treat it as a catch-up rather than a full feed.

The default window is the last 24 hours. Anyone in the chat can run it. /now is a different command: it summarizes the X posts that are currently trending on Rick, not the newsfeed. See Trending and reports.

/news br - breaking news only. breaking and just in work too.
/news <timeframe> - a different window, for example /news 6h or /news 7d.
/news <topic> - focus on one subject, for example /news bitcoin.
/news <timeframe> <topic> - both together, for example /news 12h ethereum.

Timeframes are a number plus h, d, w, m, or y. Anything longer than 30 days is treated as 30 days.

Scheduled Rick News

Rick News is Telegram only, and only in supergroups. Discord has no scheduled news subscription: use /news there when you want an update.

Once a group turns Rick News on, Rick posts a short report by itself: a one-line headline tagged #RICKNEWS, then 3 to 5 one-line bullets on the most material stories. It is a nudge, not a digest, and it is written from the same newsfeed /news reads.

Rick checks once an hour and sends at most one report per interval, so with the default interval a group can expect an update roughly every 4 hours. Delivery is not random and does not speed up during major happenings: pick a shorter interval, or run /news on demand, when you want more.

Turn it on

Only group admins can change the setting.

/ricknews on - enable with the default interval of 4 hours.
/ricknews <duration> - enable and set the interval, for example /ricknews 4h or /ricknews 1d.
/ricknews off - stop the reports.
/ricknews on its own - show the usage and the current state.

The interval must be between 2 hours and 7 days. /settings shows the current interval for the chat.
