Translation and language
Translate a message or your own text, and the chat setting for translated X posts.
On Telegram, /translate turns a message you reply to, or text you type
yourself, into another language. /lang is a separate admin setting that
translates the X posts Rick previews in a chat.
Commands
Translate a message
/translate [language]in reply to a message - translate that message. Quote part of the message to translate only that part./tris the short form, for example/tr cnfor Chinese or/translatealone for English./tr <text> [language]- translate text you type. Put the language last, for example/tr hola french.
Rick translates into English unless you name another language, and detects the input language automatically. The two modes accept different language input:
- Reply mode accepts any language, as a code or a full name, for
example
es,Spanish, orBrazilian Portuguese. - Direct text mode only recognises the languages below. Any other last word is treated as part of the text and the result is English.
en,eng- Englishes- Spanishfr- Frenchde- Germanit- Italianpt- Portuguesezh,cn- Chineseja- Japaneseru- Russianar- Arabicnl- Dutchko,kr- Korean
The full English name of each language works as well.
Rick keeps the result about as short as the source and leaves the text as-is if it is already in the language you asked for. Only text messages are supported. Each translation costs 1 AI credit, see the credit table.
You can also just mention Rick and ask him to translate something, with
your own instructions, for example Rick, translate & tldr this in reply
to a message, or Rick, translate this page to English <url> for a
webpage.
Translated X posts
/lang <code> makes Rick translate the X posts it reposts in the chat into
that language. /lang off disables it (the default), and /lang alone
shows the current setting and the supported codes. Admins only. It only
works in the classic repost mode (/vx classic). With the default
reposter, reply to the repost with /tr instead.

/lang does not change the language Rick replies in. For that, set a
custom prompt.
