Slackers

Rick tracks inactive members, or slackers, in a Telegram group. Once Rick is an admin, it records every member's last message, /slackers stats shows the group's activity, and /slackers 7d lists everyone who has been quiet for a week and offers to remove them.

Commands

Search Slackers commands

Command	Description
/slackers	Show the usage and limits.
/slackers <days>d [limit]	List members inactive for that many days and offer to remove them. Admins only.
/slackers status	Check Rick's rights and whether monitoring is active.
/slackers stats	A summary of tracked activity, to check that tracking works.
/slackers top	The 10 most active members.
/slackers bot	The 10 least active members.
/slackers <on|off>	Turn Slackers on or off for the group. Group owner only.
/slackers owneronly	Switch the kick buttons between owner only and all admins. Group owner only.

Everything except /slackers on its own works in groups only.

Set up Rick

1. Add Rick to your group if it is not there yet.
2. Make Rick an admin with permission to delete messages and ban users.
3. Run /slackers status and make sure every requirement shows a green check. When all pass, Rick replies Monitoring is active.

Rick only counts messages while it has all three rights. Run /slackers status after changing Rick's rights so tracking starts right away. Otherwise a change can take up to 30 minutes to be picked up.

Check stats

Anyone in the group can run these.

• /slackers stats - a summary of tracked activity. Run it after setup to check that tracking works.
• /slackers top - the 10 most active members.
• /slackers bot - the 10 least active members.

Find inactive members

Run /slackers <days>d, for example /slackers 7d, to find members who have not sent a message for that long. You must be a group admin posting as yourself, not anonymously, and the shortest allowed period is 3 days.

1. Rick replies with the list of inactive members, longest inactive first, each with their days of inactivity, message count, and a link to their last message when available, under two buttons: Kick Inactives and Cancel.
2. Press Kick Inactives. Rick asks for a final confirmation with Yes or Cancel.
3. Press Yes. Rick removes the listed members one by one and finishes with a summary of how many were kicked, purged from its list, skipped as admins, or failed.

A list expires after 3 minutes. If you confirm later, Rick asks you to generate a new list.

Kick button permissions

By default, only the group owner can press Kick Inactives and Yes. The owner can run /slackers owneronly to let admins press them too, and run it again to switch back to owner only. Admins also need the permission to ban users. /slackers status shows the current setting.

Admins can still create lists and press Cancel either way.

Safety limits

• Admins are never removed, even if they appear inactive. Users with a title are admins without additional permissions, so they are protected too.
• At most 50 members are removed per run by default, as a safety measure against mass purges. The group owner can add a second argument for a higher limit, for example /slackers 60d 250. Limits above 1000 are lowered to 1000. Other admins can set a limit up to 50, and only the owner can confirm a list created with a limit above 50. Rick repeats the limit in effect in its confirmation prompt.
• Removed members are kicked, not banned. They can rejoin with an invite link.
• You can review everything Rick did under Manage Group, then Recent actions.

Turn Slackers on or off

Slackers is on by default. The group owner can run /slackers off to stop it and /slackers on to resume. Other admins cannot, and an anonymous owner must post as themselves first.

While Slackers is off:

• Rick does not record messages, joins, or leaves. Tracking can take up to a minute to stop or resume.
• /slackers stats, top, bot, and /slackers <days>d reply that Slackers is off. /slackers and /slackers status still work.
• Existing Kick Inactives and Yes buttons stop working. A run in progress stops before the next member, and its summary shows how many members were not processed.
• Stored activity is kept.

After /slackers on, Rick needs a full observation window before removing anyone, because activity while Slackers was off is unknown. For example, /slackers 7d works again 7 days after Slackers was turned back on, and Rick replies with the time to try again until then. /slackers status shows when the window started. Running /slackers on while Slackers is already on does not restart it. Lists created before Slackers was turned back on cannot be confirmed.

Members who already left

When a tracked member leaves, Rick drops them from its list and posts when they were last seen and how many messages they sent. Members removed by /slackers are reported in the run summary instead.

/slackers stats can include members who already left. A confirmed /slackers <days>d run purges them from Rick's list and reports them as purged in the summary.
